Who is Caerwyn? Is that a real name?
Caerwyn (pronounced “Ky-Win”) is tennis director of one of the top 25 tennis academies in the US (as named by Tennis Magazine), Desert Tennis Academy at Shadow Mountain Club. Caerwyn is certified as a USPTA P1 Professional, a PTR Professional, a PTR 10 and Under Professional and a Cardio Tennis Authorized Provider to name a just a few of his qualifications.
In 1999 Caerwyn started a successful coaching career in Australia before traveling to Europe the following year. In 2002, Caerwyn visited Palm Desert to fly hot air balloons. After falling in love with the desert lifestyle, he decided to put down roots and return to full time tennis coaching, and in 2005 he started teaching at The Reserve Club in Indian Wells. His love of teaching young people drew Caerwyn to the National Junior Tennis and Learning program (NJTL) that reaches out to underprivileged kids.
